Playground Rules

Read through our playground rules to ensure your dog has the best experience possible!

At Love My Doggy Day Care, each dog goes through a temperament test to know which play group he or she will be best suited for.

This is for his or her safety of course, as well as the safety of the other dogs in our care, and our staff’s. Remember, at Love My Doggy Day Care, this evaluation is included in a free first visit! There’s a little more information about this right below. But before your best friend joins a play group, you will need to complete and submit the following forms:

Temperament Test

All dogs will be temperament tested before being put into a playgroup. This is for the safety of your dog and the others in playgroup. We will evaluate your pet’s play style and socialization skills. Your pet’s first day is an evaluation day and is always free. If you dog is assessed as not suitable for playgroups (and it’s ok, not all dogs are!), he or she is still welcome at Love My Doggy Day Care, but will not be able to participate in group play.

New Adoptions

For dogs that have recently been adopted from rescue shelters or pet stores, we require a 2-week waiting period before they are permitted to come to Love My Doggy Day Care for boarding, day care, or any of our other services. This is a precautionary measure to ensure that a dog is free of any communicable illnesses that may have been contracted at the shelter or store.

Late Pick-up

We understand how busy a person’s work day can get, or how unpredictable travel can be, or how road construction can ruin a simple commute! Please call us as soon as you can to notify us if you are going to be late picking up your pet(s). We will do our best to accommodate you but please note after one courtesy “pass” assuming notice is given, you will be charged a $20 late pick-up fee, and if you are more than 30 minutes past closing, we will board your pup for you, or if we are still available for pick-up, you will be charged a boarding fee ($60).

Vaccinations

A copy of your veterinarian records must be provided to Love My Doggy Day Care to verify up-to-date immunizations for the following required vaccines:

  • Rabies
  • Distemper
  • Bordetella

There is a two-week waiting period after vaccination for Bordetella before pets are permitted to come to Love My Doggy Day Care for boarding, day care, or any of our other services, to ensure immunization.

If your pet is in need of vaccinations, it can be provided by our veterinarian.

We also require that your pet be on some type of flea and tick preventative.

Licenses

All dogs must have current PA licenses, and a copy must be provided to Love My Doggy Day Care. If you haven’t done this, it’s very simple, and here’s where to get started: http://www.padoglicense.com/

Neuter/Spay

Please note that we ask that all dogs over 6 months old must be neutered or spayed.
