The votes for the December Best Friend of the Month are in and I am beyond thrilled to announce that Willy, our happy-go-lucky rock star lab, takes the honors home for the final month of 2017! Willy came to us with quite a story. He was rescued in the country of Taiwan, where he was found on the streets in terrible condition, with evidence of physical abuse. He was nursed back to health in a vet hospital and fostered for 6 months. Willy was successful in his foster situations with children and other pets, and then he was brought to the U.S. After a brief stay with a foster family in the U.S., he was adopted from Hopeful Hearts Dog Rescue, and came to settle in his forever home. We didn’t get to meet him until a new job in the family brought him closer to us. When he came to Love My Doggy Day Care, he had already had great experiences at another day care, and his new parents said that they saw no evidence of any lasting effects of Willy’s rough beginnings in his lovable nature – the only thing he didn’t like were bicycles! Sure enough, Willy’s temperament test showed us what a winner he was, and he brings us love and happiness every time we see his freckly snout come through our doors! We love having Willy as part of the Love My Doggy Day Care family, and we are so happy his family chose us to be part of Willy’s care team. We are pleased to offer Willy and his family some silly prizes but most especially these well-deserved accolades and bragging rights! Be sure to look for his picture on our Best Friends Wall. Way to go, Willy – you always make our day!

My dog nephew is the sweetest boy! He’s also great with all the kids in the family. We love him too! Good job Willy!!!

So nice to read about Willy. I am friends with his owner and met Willy for the first time in August when he was “Best Dog” at her wedding. He was a hit with his color of greens and flowers and greeted everyone. I knew was a rescue dog, but this is the first time I heard his whole story.
