We have some incredibly fabulous team members here at Love My Doggy Day Care, and they LOVE taking care of your pups for you. Here is your opportunity to learn a little bit more about the folks that love your fur babies as much as you do. The first person I have the privilege of introducing is an “original member” of the Love My Doggy Day Care family. Please read on to get to know Maddy!
Vital Stats:
My name is Madison but mostly everyone knows me as Maddy. The most important fact about me is that I’m an Aries which explains my personality perfectly! I also like to think of myself as a feminist. I have been at LMDDC since the day we opened. We even trained in the Barren Hill Fire House while the building was still under construction! Besides working at the daycare, I am a Temple student majoring in Public Health. I have been involved in dog rescue for 12 years and have been vegan for 6! Growing up I’ve always had family dogs most of the big variety. My first dog was a Weimaraner who I grew up with and now I am blessed to have a dog of my very own. Her name is Maisy Mae and she is teacup chihuahua! We hope to be rescuing another dog in the next couple of months!

Here’s a bit more insight into what makes Maddy tick:

Who inspires me?
I am inspired by all women! I was raised by a strong mother who took all of the challenges life threw at her and provided for me and my brothers through it all. She is the most wonderful and inspirational woman I know. I am also inspired by the way women have persevered through history. There is a Chinese proverb about how women hold up half the sky and I couldn’t agree more! I have so many examples of strong women who have just had so many things thrown at them and have come out on top and all of them inspire me in so many ways!

What’s my favorite place in the world?
Paris is my favorite place! I had the opportunity to visit Paris and Rome three years ago and it was the most beautiful, magical, and amazing place in the world! I had always dreamed of going and every part of it exceeded my expectations!

Which animal would I be?
A dog of course!

What are you watching on Netflix?
I’m currently watching Peaky Blinders. It’s about a gangster in 1919 Birmingham. It’s my favorite show right now besides Portlandia!

What am I passionate about?
I am passionate about helping people who are less fortunate especially women! My dreams are to use my future degree in Public Health to reach out to women in foreign countries and to help reduce the amount of health disparities such as maternal mortality, child malnutrition, and poverty. I am also passionate about animals! My mom and I have been involved in rescue for 12 years! We have fostered and homed more than 200 dogs! We have had dogs from all over the US mostly from down south, all breeds from bulldogs to chihuahuas, and healthy to special needs dogs! We have a soft spot for the special needs and the ones who most people would have turned away!

If I could visit anywhere in the world I’ve never been, where would I go?

The place I would love to visit that I have never been is everywhere in the world but I guess if I had to pick I would say Bangladesh or Barcelona! I hope to work in Bangladesh in my future career and I have always wanted to visit Spain specifically Barcelona and Madrid because the art and culture is so beautiful!

What is my favorite family tradition?
My favorite family tradition is baking Christmas cookies with my mom. Every year we makes a whole bunch of Christmas cookies and give them to  a bunch of people. It’s one of my favorite things to do with my mom and it’s my favorite thing to do during the holiday season!
